Professional Interests and Responsibilities:  I am responsible for directing research in barley genetics and managing the barley breeding program.  My research interests are in genetics of complex traits and the application of genetics and genomics to crop improvement.  I have had a specific emphases in the genetics of disease resistance, malting quality, and low temperature tolerance.
