Research Interests:
-Genetic enhancement of disease resistance and grain quality in oat.
-Molecular marker mapping and use in selection.
-Wide hybrid crosses including oat x corn. 
-Oat/corn radiation hybrids.

Current or Planned Experiments:
-Cytological and molecular marker characterization of a monosomic series in oat.
-Identification of molecular marker linkages to disease resistance and seed quality traits for marker assisted selection in oat.
-Characterization of haploid oat plants and oat/corn partial hybrids produced via oat x corn crosses.
-Develop enhanced germplasms for use by oat breeders.
-Develop sets of oat-corn radiation hybrids for corn gene mapping and cloning.
