Jim Anderson receives CSSA Presidential Award

APG Professor Jim Anderson received the Crop Science Society of America (CSSA) Presidential Award. Anderson will be presented the award during the annual meeting of the American Society of Agronomy, Soil Science Society of America, and CSSA in San Antonio, Texas, November 11-13.

Anderson, who joined the APG faculty in 1998, leads plant improvement programs focusing on spring wheat, intermediate wheatgrass (Kernza), and field pennycress. Anderson has developed nineteen spring wheat varieties and is the co‐developer of eight others in four different market classes of wheat. He has authored or co-authored 170 articles in peer-reviewed journals and teaches a graduate level plant breeding course.

Since 1997, the CSSA Presidential Award has been given to a person or team who has influenced the science or practice of crop production so greatly that the impact of their efforts will be enduring on future science.
