The Department of Agronomy and Plant Genetics invites nominations for the Distinguished Alumni Award. This year we are planning to recognize both academic and industry professionals.
All former undergraduate and graduate students that studied in the Department of Agronomy and Plant Genetics are eligible for recognition. Criteria include the following:
1) Is a graduate of the Department of Agronomy and Plant Genetics
2) Has contributed significantly to their profession, industry and/or greater community
3) Has held office or a significant leadership position in professional or civic organizations
4) Is recognized as an authority in their field via any or all of the following: research, teaching, extension
5) Received their bachelor’s a minimum of 20 years from the awarding year or graduate degree a minimum of 15 years from the awarding year
Previous years' nominations will remain under consideration and do not need to be resubmitted unless you wish to make changes.
Complete the nomination form and include a letter that outlines how the nominee meets the award criteria and has contributed to agriculture. Nominations are due Feb. 10, 2023. The award will be presented in conjunction with the Hayes/Phillips Outstanding Graduate Student Ceremony, the date for this event (usually held in May) will be announced later.
