The Plant Breeding Center (PBC) seminar series will host Kevin Pixley, Dryland Crops Program director at CIMMYT, Friday, March 1, at 10 a.m. in 306 Borlaug Hall or on Zoom.

Pixley, who is past director of the Genetic Resources Program, and his research team use genomic, phenomics, and informatics to characterize and enhance the conservation and use of wheat and maize biodiversity through CIMMYT's Seeds of Discover Initiative.

Pixley's seminar, "Redesigning crop varieties to win the race between climate change and food security," is part of the  Seminar Series: Pushing the Boundaries of Plant Improvement. The series is sponsored by UMN Horticulture professors Jim Luby and Emily Hoover.
